Kirchoff, Olmstead, Sellard, and Mullens Shine at IMCA Tumbleweed Classic

DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 3, 2025) — The 2025 IMCA Tumbleweed Classic brought a packed pit area and a full house of race fans to Dodge City Raceway Park on Saturday night. With beautiful weather, a fast racing surface, and a program that ran flawlessly on time, the night delivered everything fans love about racing on the High Plains.

IMCA Northern Sport Mods headlined the finale of the evening with a 19-car A-Feature that saw Ryan Kirchoff claim the victory from the outside of the front row. Newt Lujan and Brendyn Nordyke completed the podium in a clean and competitive 20-lap main event.

Nebraska’s Zach Olmstead put on a show in the IMCA Hobby Stocks, charging from 12th to score the win in dramatic fashion. Dylan Bell and Reagan Sellard finished second and third as a strong 22-car field put on a high-action, caution-filled feature.

In IMCA Modified action, it was all Clay Sellard up front. The hometown driver led all 20 laps from the pole to capture the Tumbleweed Classic win, holding off a hard-charging Tanner Black and Kelsie Black.

The United Rebel Late Model Series brought their high-powered machines back to Dodge City with Tanner Mullens dominating both his heat and the 25-lap A-Feature. Jake Nightingale and Brandon Conkwright rounded out the podium in the return of late models to DCRP.

The URSS Sprint Cars also took to the track for a heat-only program. Tyler Knight, Jordan Knight, and Steven Richardson each scored wins in three competitive sprint heats.
